My Intuitive App — Building a Scalable Ecosystem for Surgical Insight
The Problem
Surgeons had no central way to access Intuitive’s digital tools. Data was siloed, and procedural insights were only available through clinical reps, making the ecosystem fragmented and inefficient.
My Role
As Design Lead, I created the portal framework and designed the initial mobile apps. I launched the report feature, enabling surgeons to self-serve procedural data for the first time. I aligned business goals with real surgeon needs to prioritize what mattered.
Execution
I led feature expansion, mentored a designer, and oversaw the integration of additional services. I also coached PMs to shift from feature checklists to outcome-driven planning, helping the team scale responsibly.
Impact
The app became a foundational tool for improving surgical performance. It earned multiple awards (IDEA Gold, Silicon Valley UX) and set the standard for future product integrations across Intuitive’s ecosystem.

Prototype and Validation
Oversaw external agency delivery, gathering feedback from surgeon KOLs to shape the experience.
Scalable Integration
Designed the launch experience with Case Reports, Intuitive Learning, and Provider Locator. The landing UI highlighted critical updates to keep busy surgeons informed.

Insights to help surgeons improve
The Problem
The da Vinci robotic system captured rich procedural data, but surgeons had no direct access. Many tracked performance manually in Excel or relied on fragmented hospital systems. Reports from Intuitive, available only through clinical reps, lacked depth and offered little actionable insight.
My Role & Approach
As Design Lead, I worked with product marketing and human factor engineers to shift the ask from UI clean-up to strategic redesign. I reframed the opportunity: turn robotic system data into insights that empower surgeons, not just inform them.
Impact
Launched the first self-serve analytics tool powered by da Vinci data.
Shifted PMs from tactical delivery to strategic, surgeon-centered value.
Boosted customer loyalty, earned design awards, and laid the foundation for future service and data monetization.
Before
UI cleanup wasn’t enough —
